Tinley Park Disputes Cop's Discrimination Claims

The Illinois Department of Human Rights has found "substantial evidence" of discrimination after Officer Rudy Rosillo filed complaints alleging racism and ageism, according to a report.

The Illinois Department of Human Rights found evidence that the Tinley Park Police Department discriminated against one of its officer when he applied for a task force position in 2011, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Officer Rudy Rosillo filed a discrimination complaint in April 2012, the Tribune reports. In the complaint, Rosillo claims the department chose a less-qualified candidate for a position on a Customs/ICE Task Force in December 2011 and that he was discriminated against because of his Hispanic ancestry. A second complaint filed in September alleges the department passed him over because of his age.

An attorney for the Village of Tinley Park denies any discrimination took place, the Tribune reports.
