Tinley Park Man Pleads Not Guilty to Sex with Girl in Mokena Park

David J. Potter, 20, of the 17800 block of 66th Court in Tinley Park, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse this fall.

A Tinley Park man pleaded not guilty on Wednesday.

In November, David J. Potter, 20, of the 17800 block of 66th Court in , was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a felony carrying three to seven years behind bars.

said Potter met the girl this summer at a Tinley Park roller rink and had consensual sex in October. The girl’s parents reportedly called police once they learned of the contact.

Potter remained in jail Wednesday morning on a $150,000 bail.

Pretrial hearings are scheduled to begin on Jan. 11, 2012, before Judge Amy Bertani-Tomczak.

I thought the last article, on 11/19, said ,Potter admitted to having consensual sex with the 13 year old The juvenile was given a 'victim-sensitive' interview with the Will County state’s attorney’s office before Potter was brought in for questioning, during which he admitted having sexual contact with the girl," the Sun-Times reported following an interview with Rankovic

According to the Sun-Times Media report, he did admit to having sexual contact with her. However, Russ, that doesn't preclude him from opting to plead not guilty. He has a right to a fair trial and is innocent until proven guilty.
