Tinley Park Names New Deputy Police Chief

Charles Faricelli has been with the department since 1999 and steps in to fill the role formerly held by Steve Vaccaro.

Tinley Park has a new deputy police chief.

Charles Faricelli, 43, has been with the department since 1999, and has served in several different capacities, including a school resource officer, as the administrative services sergeant and as a patrol sergeant. Prior to joining Tinley Park's forces, he worked in Dolton's department for three years.

Faricelli's hire was approved at an April 29 board meeting. Faricelli steps in to fill the vacancy left by Steve Vaccaro, who went on to become Mokena's police chief.

Mayor Ed Zabrocki applauded the move and called it Faricelli's "next natural step."
