Tinley Park Woman Says Neighbor Threatened to Shoot Barking Dogs

Police questioned man who was screaming out his window, according to the dogs' owner.

were called to the 6700 block of 175th Street in around 9:20 p.m. Wednesday for a report that dogs were barking in that area.

When the cops rolled up, they spoke to the owner of the and , according to the report. She said she was in her backyard with the pups between 9 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. when a neighbor began screaming from a second-story window.

"The man yelled down at the female stating that she had better shut up her dogs or he was going to shoot them," the report said.

The woman said she feared for the safety of her pets. Police then went to speak to the man, who was the one to call in the complaint, they said.

"While speaking with (him), I smelled aroma of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath," an officer wrote, in the report. " … I asked (him) if he had any firearms and he said 'yes.'"

Police said the man denied threatening the dogs. When police continued questioning him, he walked back inside and refused to talk anymore. He had a valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card, according to the report.

The woman wanted the incident documented in case anything ever happens to her dogs, she said.
