Toking Driver Surprised by Cop on 4/20

Tinley Park police spotted a driver lighting up on a day known for smoking marijuana, according to a report.

A Frankfort woman received a shock when a cop caught her smoking a bowl on April 20, according to police.

An officer spotted a woman, 26, driving a Scion TC and allegedly lighting a device used for smoking marijuana, according to a Tinley Park police report.

The cop was approaching a red light in the 16700 block of Oak Park Avenue when he pulled alongside the Scion and noticed the passenger side window was open, according to the report. The driver turned to the see the officer and reportedly said "Oh, s---."

Police stopped the car and allegedly smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the driver's open window, according to the report. During a search, police recovered a plastic baggy with a green leafy substance and two "one-hitter pipes," one of which was packed with the green stuff.

The driver was issued local ordinance citations for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
