Tinley Park police are investigating a recent home break-in where the thief, or thieves, made off with more than $700 in tools.

About $725 worth of tools were reported stolen in a local residential burglary this past weekend.

A man who has been working to update the inside of a condominium in the 17400 block of South 67th Court in , called police around 2:40 p.m. when he noticed that someone had forced open a back door and the garage side door.

The door jams on both were broken and would cost around $400 to repair, according to the report. The construction worker told police that he had left his tools scattered about the house, mostly in the kitchen area.
