Two Teens Charged with Trespassing at Sandburg High School

The two non-students boarded a bus to the school and filed in with the rest of the students, police said.

Two teens were charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct after they entered Sandburg High School without permission Wednesday morning and then left as police and school officials searched for them, Orland Park police said.

Former Sandburg student Ian J. Sipes, 18, of the 15100 block of Harlem Avenue in Orland Park, along with a 17-year-old from Midlothian boarded a bus to the school, 13300 LaGrange Rd. with a friend who attends there. They then entered the school with the rest of the students.

Security guards at the school were alerted to the teens' presence, and called in Orland Park police. The two were in the school for roughly 15 minutes before police arrived, and exited as they heard authorities were searching for them. The incident led to a soft lockdown at the school while police investigated. Students were kept inside classrooms, and visitors were prohibited from entering the building.

Police apprehended the teens in a parking lot nearby. Both were charged with misdemeanors criminal trespass to safe school zone, criminal trespass to a motor vehicle, and disorderly conduct.

The juvenile will appear in juvenile court.

Why is this the bus drivers fault? It could have been a replacement driver. Shouldn't the kids boarding the bus know those kids have never gotten on before?

LOL, so you question why it is the bus driver's fault and then immediately after you put the blame on the kids on the bus? Strong Justice(league).

Hey, just pointing out it might have been a sub driver who doesn't know what kids are on the route.
