Two Tinley Teens Are Robbed at Gunpoint

Police said two teenagers were robbed and threatened late Friday night.

are looking for leads to identify two men who—armed with handguns—robbed a pair of teens late Friday night while they were sitting on a lawn near Fulton School.

A girl and a boy, both 14 years old, were lounging in a grassy area near 172nd Street and 66th Court around 11 p.m. when they said they were approached by two men who "displayed handguns," according to the report.

"The two male subjects ran up to them and stated, 'Get down and give me all of your money,'" the report said. "At that point, (the female victim) stated a muscular male black subject pointed a black handgun toward her head."

The girl got scared and handed over her cell phone, police said. The boy also gave his phone, along with $40 in cash.

One of the men was described as skinny and black, wearing jean shorts and a "sock hat," the report said. The second was also black, but had a muscular build and was wearing a dark shirt and jeans.

Both robbers were last seen running northbound toward the Veterans of Foreign Wars building on 173rd Street, the teens told police.
