A volunteer gymnastics coach at Lincoln-Way West High School was jailed on two felony sex charges for an alleged consensual relationship with a teenage girl.
Isaac Kruspe, 20, of 11613 Stephanie Lane in Mokena was charged with criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
"Kruspe met the victim, a female juvenile, through his volunteer coach work with Lincoln-Way West gymnastics," said New Lenox Deputy Police Chief Robert Pawlisz.
Police were alerted to the alleged sex crimes March 10, Pawlisz said.
Kruspe volunteered for the District 210 co-op gymnastic program from Dec. 13, 2013 to March 10, 2014. He passed the American Sport Education Program test and received his certificate of completion. He also passed a criminal background check by both the state and federal governments, according to a statement from Stacy Holland, Director of Community Relations for District 210.
Kruspe competed as a Lincoln-Way gymnast. In the 2010 Frankfort Boys Gymnastics Sectional, he won the floor exercise, still rings, high bar and all around competitions, according to the IHSA.
