Wanted for Child Support Delinquency, April 20

The Cook County Sheriff has arrest warrants out for these accused "deadbeat dads" in the south suburbs.

Child support warrants are most often filed when a person neglects to pay child support bills, Cook County Sheriff's Office representatives said last week.

However, warrants may also be issued in other cases, such as when a person doesn't report to a police department to provide a required DNA sample or when he or she doesn't notify authorities of salary increases.

The following child support warrants were listed by the Cook County Sheriff's Office as of April 19:

New Lenox

The last known address listed for Jason Browe, 39, is in the 2600 block of Schooner Avenue in New Lenox, according to county records. He doesn't owe any child support payments but is wanted on a related warrant.

Chicago Heights

Demetrius Cantrell, 47, had $35,462.63 in child support payments racked up as of April 19. His last known address was in the 800 blk of MacArthur Drive in Chicago Heights.

Sheriff's deputies list Vincent Crossland, 48, as most recently living in the 1500 block of South Union Ave in Chicago Heights. He did not owe any child support payments as of April 19, but is wanted on a child support warrant.

Dover Ray Scott, 49, of the 1200 block of Division Street in Chicago Heights was listed April 19 as owing $80,806.00 in child support payments.

Oak Forest

Authorities have also listed Anthony Thrower, 37, of the 15800 block of South LeClaire in Oak Forest, as being wanted on a child support warrant. Thrower does not owe any child support payments, according to the sheriff's office.

If you have a tip on their whereabouts, call 708-865-4902 or email fugitive.warrants@cookcountyil.gov. The sheriff's department says you should not try to apprehend anyone yourself.

Actually two of those included today did not have mugs on file. Most often, however, there are photos available.

I've said it a thousand times and I will say it again. The term Dead Beat Dad is antiquated and quite frankly discriminatory. A person who doesn't support their child is a Dead Beat Parent. My ex wife owes 39,211,04. I never see a round up up Mothers. In this day and age this sort of discrimination is travesty. The percentage of mothers who don't pay is far greater than the percentage of fathers that don't pay. This is a fact that is ignored. It needs to stop.

Joe, while I do agree with you on the dead beat parent part, I have to disagree on your statement that "The percentage of mothers who don't pay is far greater than the percentage of fathers that don't pay". Where did you get your information from? Yes, there are dead beat mothers who owe thousands in child support but it doesn't nearly compare to the number of dead beat fathers. Unfortunately, I have to see this stuff every day. It's amazing to see the lengths that men/women will go to so that they don't have to support the kids that they created. It's sick and very sad- nothing is going to change anytime soon.

These numbers are taken from the states web site. Note I did not say there are more mothers that don't pay. I said the percentage of women who are ordered to pay is greater than that of fathers. This a fact not an opinion.
Joe Chapleau April 20, 2012 at 07:52 pm
Meant to say the percentage of mothers who are ordered to pay and don't is greater than the percentage of fathered who don't pay. While the number of fathers who don't pay is larger the percentage of woman is larger. Once again this is not an opinion it is a fact!
And again the term should be dead beat parent. Equal rights right. Or is that just for the good stuff. Joe C

I agree with you Joe 100% My stepkids mom is a deadbeat.. never paid an ounce of support, but my husband didn't bother with her as all he wanted was a secure structured life for his kids...and they have that. So it's not just the Dad's it Mom's too.

I was owed child support of $86,000 way back from 1979 for my 2 children thru a support order at the time fo our divorce. For 18 years he didn't bother to pay. Around 1999, the child support laws of Illinois FINALLY kicked in and he was jailed for 5 days which got his attention. From then on, I received the money each month (taken from his work check by the State) until the $86,000 was owed. A few days in jail is what dead beat parents need............ men OR women! doesn't matter. My 2 kids were in their mid 20's when I started receiving the money owed so it doesn't matter if they aren't small kids anymore. The money is owed and that's that! So never give up pursuing a dead beat parent... the laws work! I never gave up in 18 years and it was worth the wait!

Joe: Is your ex working? You should contact the Dept of Child Support Enforcement in Chicago. They can find anyone ANYWHERE if they have the SS #. I agree that it should be termed Dead Beat Parent.

Turns out it was a minor crash, according to state police. No one was injured enough to require aRead More trip in an ambulance. Two cars were involved in the collision, which happened at about 2 p.m.
Local Citizen June 18, 2013 at 02:01 pm
I'd also contact whichever bank has this in foreclosure. If they're the legal owners, then they'reRead More responsible. Maybe the threat of a lawsuit if someone gets sick or injured might prompt them to take action.
Concerned Citizen June 18, 2013 at 02:31 pm
The problem is that nobody knows or can locate the bank who owns this property. I have contacted aRead More friend of mine whom is a realtor and there saying it's owned by HUD! Well good luck getting in touch with them!
Concerned Citizen June 18, 2013 at 05:47 pm
Well I just ran into an inspector sent by the bank who entered the property and said that the coinsRead More have eaten through the ceiling of he living room! I knew it!!!

We too live in Parkside and I couldn't agree with you more! I love your sign! I have a three yearRead More old and I refuse to let him play on the last 15 feet of the driveway due to the speeding cars. Maybe a speed bump?!
dalygirl June 16, 2013 at 09:25 am
We've looked into a speed bump too. Make yourself a sign, call the Tinley Police and ask for theRead More electronic monitoring sign, call the village and complain, and be pro-active. Someone from the village saw my sign and has informed me that the village will be putting up speed limit signs and caution - kids playing signs this week. Good luck!!
