Woman Says the Pot Dealer Snagged Her Car Keys

A Tinley Park woman said a man who was selling her weed pocketed her car keys.

After her 2004 Jaguar was broken into this week, a local woman told that she believed her pot dealer was the culprit.

The woman's neighbor in the 7100 block of West 166th Street in called police around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday when he heard a car alarm going off in the apartment complex parking lot, the report said. He walked out and saw a man sitting in the car.

The second time the resident yelled at the man, he got out of the car and walked away. The 22-year-old vehicle owner said she hadn't seen her keys since Oct. 14, when a man came to her apartment to sell her marijuana.

"(She) had her alarm remote changed on (Oct. 15) so it would be different than the one taken … " the report said. "A subject could unlock the victim's vehicle, but the alarm would activate and the ignition would be disabled."

The woman said she intends to sign complaints. The report did not note whether anything was missing from the car.
