Woman Socks Server at Eggheadz

An Alsip woman was arrested Sunday after an argument at Eggheadz Cafe came to blows.

Brunch for a 47-year-old Alsip woman was cut short this past weekend when she was cuffed and arrested after a scuffle at Eggheadz Cafe.

Police were called around noon Sunday to the restaurant, 16952 Oak Park Ave., regarding a brawl in the kitchen. At the center of that fight was Kathleen A. Castillo, of the 11800 block of South Karlov Avenue in Alsip. She was outside in the parking lot when the cops rolled up.

"(She) was standing in the parking lot with her arms raised saying, 'I'm the one, I'm the one who did it. I'm the one that slugged that hoe,'" the report said.

Castillo told police she was at the restaurant eating a meal with a friend and before leaving, she went into the kitchen to talk to her boyfriend while he was working. She wanted to discuss their shared cellular phone, where "questionable nude photos" recently turned up, according to the report.

Castillo then threw the phone at the floor, breaking it, the report said. A manager of the restaurant then asked her to leave.

"As (she) was leaving, she observed a witness, later identified as the victim … snickering and smiling at her," the report said. "Kathleen stated that she became enraged, because she believed (the two) were seeing one another because she caught them hugging at the rear of the restaurant back in April."

Castillo punched the woman two times, she said.

The victim told police she saw the argument in the kitchen and that she "thought it was silly and was smiling over (it)," the report said. Castillo then pushed her to the ground with both hands, she said.

After Castillo was arrested, police said she reiterated what she had said earlier and then said, "I would do it again."

Castillo's bail was set at $1,000.
