Challengers File Complaint Over Incumbents' Campaign Photos

A complaint was filed Jan. 28 against Mayor Ed Zabrocki and trustees Brian Maher, Dave Seaman and T.J. Grady by four challengers in the April 9 election. The complaint centers on campaign photos used at www.TeamTinley.com.

Tinley Park Mayor Ed Zabrocki, Village Clerk Pat Rea, and trustees Brian Maher, Dave Seaman and T.J. Grady, were all named in a complaint that alleges taxpayer money was used to fund campaign photos, Sun-Times Media reports.

The complaint was filed by Zabrocki's opponent Steve Eberhardt, and trustee candidates Karen Weigand, Andrew DeLuca and Nancy Petro.

The complaint was filed Monday, Jan. 28 with the Illinois State Board of Elections, and alleges that Zabrocki, Maher, Seaman and Grady are all using village-funded photos of themselves and Tinley Park landmarks on their campaign website, www.TeamTinley.com.

It also charges Zabrocki's secretary, Judy Bruning, with using village time to help run Zabrocki's campaign.

Although the complaint was filed, Eberhardt said that he was not looking to have the candidates fined or even reprimanded, according to the report. Eberhardt said he just wants everyone to follow the rules.
