Veterans Day Ceremony

Tinley Park will hold its Veterans Day observance at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Village Hall, 16250 S. Oak Park Ave.

Celebrate Veterans Day with the Veterans Commission at this ceremony to recognize those who have served in the armed forces of the United States.

David Montee will be honored for his many years of service to the community's veterans. Currently serving as the American Legion's 8th District commander, he is also the 1st Division representative for the American Legion Riders and is a past commander of Tinley Park American Legion Post 615.

During his tenure with the American Legion, he began the Police Officer and Firefighter of the Year program, the Premier Boy's state program, co-sponsored Boy Scout Troop 911, and began the Legion's Halloween safety program and Toby Tire bus safety program. He was also closely involved with the Village's recent Patriot Day program.

The Veterans Day ceremony will also include music by the Central Middle School band and remarks by Veterans Commission Chairman Wiley Roberts and retired Brigadier General, Village Clerk Patrick Rea.
