How Is the Village Preparing for Possible Severe Storms?

Tinley Park's Emergency Management Agency and other departments have been going over action plans and staffing in order to deal with Wednesday's potential heavy rain, flash floods and tornadoes.

With potentially nasty weather in Wednesday's forecast, the Village of Tinley Park has been preparing since Tuesday night, said Pat Carr, the director of the village's Emergency Management Agency.

As with past possibilities of severe, village departments, along with the Village Board and administrative staff, have been updated on the forecast and gone over action plans between Tuesday, June 11, and Wednesday, June 12, Carr stated in an email.

Here are what some of the village's agencies are doing in advance of possible thunderstorms, hail, flooding and tornadoes, according to Carr:
Thanks to the village's Graphic Information System, officials will be able to track where the flood prone areas are and plan accordingly, Carr said.
