More Red Light Cameras in Tinley Park? Maybe

Which intersections do you think would need a red light camera?

Drivers in Tinley Park might have to be more careful, as the Village of Tinley Park mulls installing additional red light cameras.

The three red light cameras positioned on Harlem Avenue—at 159th, 171st, and 183rd—have brought in roughly $1 million in revenue, officials have said. Officials are preparing to request bids; the current agreement with Redflex ends July 13.

The Village could ask bidders for suggestions on intersections that would benefit from a red light camera.

I agree with Tony and the Oracle. The Village is collecting over a million dollars on these fines, yet Bubba Hannon doesn't want to replace the trees diseased with the emerald ash borer until he can cover the cost! What is the government using the excess money in the tiller for, their future raises?

If more people came out to vote the "Good Old Boys Club" out of office, we wouldn't be in this mess. Of course "Z" appointed a group of panelists to review the term limit proposal, one of them former Mayor Peloquin from Blue Island (what do you think his vote was) to ensure his term as God would not expire. Mayor Z, do you profess your sins at St. Julie for being a corrupt individual at confession?

I voted and it wasn't for z. When he built that rediculous 10+ million train castle I was enraged at this fat cat slug squandering village revenue. The train was 15 mins late the other morning and there was no room to stand or sit. But the full service kitchen and an addl 800 square feet behind the counter had one sleepy and bored cashier and a 30 foot display case with unsold food wasted usable space. What an incredible waste of money and absurd planning ! If he were in the private sector and squandered that amount of money on such a white elephant he would have been out on his ass and in the unemployment line. A closed minded old fool runs this village and a board of spineless talentless trustees An excellent mayor his first few terms and now just another fat cat slug politician out of fresh ideas except how to feed his ego and feed his political machine and cronies. Yea, build a walmart in tinley park and have its taxpayers fund the millions in tax credits the billion dollar sweatshop walmart demanded What an idiot on all fronts! Big z. You are a shmuck!

A 10 million dollar train station? Wtf? More red light cameras bullshit! If he has that money to blow how about some help with property taxes in tinley?

He's got no concept of what it takes to survive financially as an average person without sweetheart deals. Ask him about the large tinley park residential developer that bought his home well above market value in old tinley and then sold him a brand new home in their new subdivision with terms of the sake not disclosed. Who ya jackn big z? What a smuck!
