The mastermind of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks has been killed.
On Sept. 11, 2001, I woke up when the sun trickled on my face. I smiled at the warmth and stretched. My bed was warm and I had nowhere to be for hours. I had a momentary thought about how nice and good and whole the world could be.
Then my mother called in tears to tell me to turn on the television.
"The World Trade Center is gone," she said.

Nearly 10 years after my day of sunlight trickles and weeping alone in a basement apartment, nearly 10 years after the day that claimed 3,000 American lives, the man responsible has been killed. Osama bin Laden is dead.
