Procrastinators, Rejoice! Police Won't Ticket Sticker-less Cars … Yet

Thanks to a 30-day moratorium, Tinley Park residents have until July 31 to buy 2013-14 village vehicle stickers. What's your excuse for not buying one by the deadline? Seriously, tell us in the comments section.

Miss last month's deadline to buy a 2013-14 Tinley Park vehicle sticker? Are you taking byzantine routes through village streets in order to avoid being ticketed by the police?

You can quit pretending you're Vin Diesel in The Fast and the Furious and relax. At least until the end of July.

The village has instituted a 30-day moratorium when it comes to citing residents without vehicle stickers, according to a press release. Although residents will avoid citations, they won't avoid paying late fees for buying stickers after the original June 30 deadline, the release added.

And after July 31, "the Tinley Park Police Department will begin aggressively ticketing violators," the release stated.

Stickers can be purchased from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at the Village Hall. The police department also sells stickers 24 hours daily. Vehicle sticker revenue is used to fund village roadwork.
