See Which Tinley Nonprofits Have had Their Status Revoked
Several local nonprofit organizations made a "failure to file" list released by the Internal Revenue Service.
Paperwork may be daunting, but it's necessary. Especially if you want to retain your tax-exempt nonprofit status.
The Internal Revenue Service has started publishing a list of organizations that have had their federal tax-exempt status revoked after failing for three years in a row to file an annual return or notice. Organizations making this year's list include a handful in Orland Park, Oak Forest, New Lenox, Mokena and yes, .
In some cases, these nonprofits are defunct. In others, they've likely forgotten to file their paperwork. It's possible, too, that a shift in power has caused the oversight.
The IRS' database of these organizations — it oh so officially calls it the "Automatic Revocation of Exemption List" — is divided by state and jurisdiction. Below are the Tinley groups that made the list.
