State Commission to Vote This Morning on Whether to Close Tinley Park Mental Health Center

A 12-member bipartisan group of General Assembly members is scheduled to vote today on the potential closure of the .

The Illinois Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability meets at 8 a.m. in Springfield, according to its website. The advisory group will forward its recommendation on whether to close the local facility—as well as the Jacksonville Developmental Center in Jacksonville and the Logan Correctional Center in Lincoln—to Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, who has the final say.

The commission already opted to keep four other Illinois centers open that were included in Quinn's plan to close the gap on a $313 million budget deficit.
