Tinley Considers $5M Ash Tree Removal, Replacement Project

Should the village go through with the plan, it will take up to several years to finish replacing over 7,000 dying or dead Ash trees.

Tinley Park's public works committee discussed the option of spending $5 million to remove dead and infested ash trees and replace them with different species, Sun-Times Media reports.

Typically, the annual tree removal and replacement budget is around $300,000. Village Manager Scott Niehaus said the village is considering funding options for the hypothetical project.

If the village decides to go through with  the plan, it will take a couple of years, at least, to remove and replace over 7,000 dead or dying trees.
