Tinley Park OKs Pizza Place in 80th Avenue Metra Station

Parmesans Wood Stone Pizza will take over food service inside the 80th Avenue Metra station beginning Monday, Jan. 28. The restaurant will begin by offering fresh baked goods for morning commuters.

Tinley Park Metra commuters who use the 80th Avenue stop are in for tasty new treats.

Beginning Jan. 28, Parmesans Wood Stone Pizza will take over as the new food vendor at the station.

Trustees Jan. 22 voted unanimously in favor of the specialty pizza place. Owners will move into the space Friday, Jan. 25 to prepare for Monday's commuters.

The plan is to focus on morning commuters initially, eventually expanding to include afternoon and evening service. 

“First, we’ll be a bagel shop for the commuters. Everything will be baked by us in the morning; bagels, cinnamon buns, muffins,” he said. “We’ll be a grab-and-go for the morning commuters. Then we’ll turn it into a restaurant.

“The idea is that eventually evening commuters will be able to order dinner online using an app and then just pick it up as they get off the train.”

Papaendrea will pay a base rent of $1,100 a month, with a small percentage of the gross sales going to the village. The agreement lasts five years.
