Veterans Day Observed: What's Open, What's Closed?

The holiday might have been Sunday, but it's officially observed today. Check our list of who has the day off before you run your errands. Did we miss anyone? Tell us in the comments section.

Because Veterans Day—Nov. 11—was Sunday this year, the official observance is Monday, Nov. 12.

Village Government: Village Hall will be open during its regular hours.

Tinley Park Post Office: There will be no mail service, and the post office will be closed.

Schools: The schools in Kirby School District 140, Consolidated Community School District 146, Bremen High School District 228 and Consolidated High School District 230 will be open. D140 schools were closed Friday, Nov. 9.

Tinley Park Public Library: The library will be open during its regular hours.

Banks: Most banks will be closed. The banks that will be open include:

  • American Chartered Bank
  • Citizens Financial Bank
  • TCF Bank

Check with your bank before you go to see if its open. Remember: All Monday transactions will not post until the next day.

Garbage and Recycling: Pickups will continue on their normal schedule.
