Tinley Park to Buy Fuel in Bulk

The village entered into an agreement with Al Warren Oil Co. to purchase fuel in bulk, in an effort to save on costs, according to Sun-Times Media reports. A final price on the cost of the fuel is expected with 30 days.

The Village of Tinley Park has reached an agreement with Al Warren Oil Co. to buy fuel in bulk, in an effort to save on costs, Sun-Times Media reports.

The village board approved the move at its Feb. 5, meeting, with a price for the fuel to be set within 30 days.

Other villages that have used the bulk purchasing method save about $100,000 annually, Assistant Village Manager Steve Tilton told Sun-Times Media.

Previously, the village would buy fuel from various vendors throughout the year, searching out the lowest possible price, according to the report.
