Village Meetings: Who's Gathering This Week (April 22-26)

Patch tells you what boards, commissions and other panels are holding public meetings. This week, the Tinley Park Village Board will have a special meeting to approve the fiscal year 2014 budget.

Each week, Patch will list the various Village of Tinley Park commissions, committees and other governmental bodies that are meeting over the next five days. These listings will note the top items on the agenda, as well.

Meetings are held at the Village Hall unless otherwise noted. Under the state's Opening Meetings Act, notice of public meetings and their agendas must be posted at least 48 hours in advance. Agendas and minutes from past meetings can be found at the village website.

MONDAY, APRIL 22

Public Safety Committee, 7 p.m.: An update on crime-free housing training and potential amendments to the towing ordinance. An executive session also is on the agenda. Executive sessions are closed to the public, but no actions can made in them.

TUESDAY, APRIL 23

  • Public Works Committee, 7 p.m.: Discuss groundwater ordinance at 171st Street and Harlem Avenue and emerald ash borer treatment bid.
  • Special Village Board meeting, 8 p.m.: Approve the fiscal year 2014 budget.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24

Term Limits Commission, 7 p.m.: Former mayoral candidate Steve Eberhardt, the local lawyer who organized the petition to put the term limits referendum on last year's ballot will be a guest speaker.
