Village Meetings: Who's Gathering This Week (May 6-10)

Patch tells you what boards, commissions and other panels are holding public meetings. This week, the Village Board votes on appointments, and Civil Service Commission gives test applicants mandatory orientation.

Each week, Patch will list the various Village of Tinley Park commissions, committees and other governmental bodies that are meeting over the next five days. These listings will note the top items on the agenda, as well.

Meetings are held at the Village Hall unless otherwise noted. Under the state's Open Meetings Act, notice of public meetings and their agendas must be posted at least 48 hours in advance. Agendas and minutes from past meetings can be found at the village website.

MONDAY, MAY 6

Civil Service Commission, 4:30 p.m. at Tinley Park High School: Mandatory orientation for individuals taking the May 18 civil service test for telecommunicators, police patrol officers and clerk matrons will be held during this meeting. The full agenda is on the village website.

TUESDAY, MAY 7

Village Board, 8 p.m.: Approve village staff and board appointments for 2014 fiscal year, which began May 1. Vote on the annual ordinance required by the state that ensures the village pays prevailing wage rates for all appropriate contract work. The full agenda is on the village website.
