You want to know, we had to ask! What do the gubernatorial candidates plan to do if elected?

Reboot Illinois and the Better Government Association teamed up to ask the GOP candidates running in the March 18th Primary Election about several key reform topics of critical interest to voters. The questions ranged from map redistricting to pensions. We present our questions and their answers in this fun infographic.

I'm certain they also all agree that even against a flop like Quinn, none of them have a chance in hell of beating him.
IllinoisLibertarian February 21, 2014 at 08:44 AM
Let's hope you are wrong Pat. People who vote for Quinn have a very low IQ.

I want to know, but I can't spend any more time digging for answers to cryptic questions. I also don't insult people just because their views differ from mine.
IllinoisLibertarian February 21, 2014 at 10:41 AM
Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Klingon, Jordan Zoot's parrot, anyone but Quinn.
Herc February 21, 2014 at 10:45 AM
Anyone in more than one term is part of the problem, vote them all out!
IllinoisLibertarian February 21, 2014 at 10:47 AM
Herc- sounds good. I never keep my toilet brush long term.
Herc February 21, 2014 at 10:49 AM
Me either IllinoisLibertarian. Now only if we could get rid of Dickwad Durbin!

Didn't really see a major difference with the candidate's responses. I consider myself independent, and think it's time for change in Illinois. I wish the questions of marriage equality and marijuana legalization would have been asked, because the people of Illinois are progressive in those aspects, and my fear is that a Republican candidate would have the same oppressive opinions as their party members in those regards.

And Illinois Libertarian.. I agree that the uneducated keep electing idiots to our offices... Illinois can lead the way in voting reform by requiring a high school diploma to qualify for voting registration in state and local elections. If the requirement is only that one must be 18 years old, and we allow 18 year olds with an IQ of a 12 year old to vote, it doesn't make much sense.

The GOP really doesn't seem to care if Quinn gets elected, they have a Billionaire and 3 lifetime politicians running for the Governors job, what a slate. I hope there is and independent running, they may win.A Billioniare for Governor, what next. We don't even have one of those on Capital Hill.
Phaedrus Pirsig February 21, 2014 at 11:33 AM
But Airotnas, if they made that a requirement we would never see another Progressive liberal in office again..
Herc February 21, 2014 at 11:44 AM
We need term limits, state, federal and local. Its time to stop these career politicians. Every politicians should also have to release tax records every year. The public should know how there making their money. No more under the table deals. Their spouses and other family members should not be able to be lobbyists. It's time to take back control of the politicians.

Another thing, if felons can not vote they should not be able to run for office, Mel Reynolds ring a bell?

Some good comments in here. I feel some hope and maybe actual change? Another thought: give our elected officials a copy of the Constitution and make them read it instead of them using it for toilet paper or baby wipes.

I think Illinois would be better served if we just randomly picked a citizen to be Governor. It's already like winning a lotto.Maybe we could get Ed McMahon to show-up at someone's door, like Publisher's Clearinghouse. Unless he's still dead...
IllinoisLibertarian February 21, 2014 at 02:30 PM
I like your music Lenny!

we have not had a good governor since m.r. edgar been too long since we have had anyone worthy of this position.we need not be the butt of night time talk show jokes.
Danny February 21, 2014 at 03:10 PM
So, Rauner and Rutherford couldn't be bothered to respond to even a simplistic questionnaire. Maybe it would have required them to actually think about what their positions are. Maybe we should ignore them as well.
