Can't Drive 55? Find Out Where You Can Drive 70 in the State

Most everyone was looking forward to the speed limit increase in Illinois. Check out this map to see all of the Interstates impacted by the increase. Hope this will help your commute!

If you're a speed demon you may have been dreaming of the day that Illinois was going to raise or abolish the speed limit on the Interstate highways. So when you found out that you can drive across the beautiful 390 miles of Illinois bliss (north to south) in 5 hours 33 minutes instead of 6 hours you were probably happier than a camel on Wednesday singing the Sammy Hagar classic, "I Can't Drive 55".

On January 1, 87% of Interstate highways in Illinois saw a speed limit increase to 70 MPH. We're talking 98% of rural interstates in Illinois. The new limit takes effect as soon as new signs are posted. We wanted to make sure that you knew exactly where you can drive 70 in Illinois, check out this infographic and just follow the green lines.
