Let's Play Pin the Unemployment Rate on the Map
We took the top and bottom 25 counties in Illinois for unemployment and mapped them out for your viewing pleasure.
The unemployment rates in Illinois vary from county to county. One county might be at seven percent, well below the state rate of 8.6 percent. Another county might be over 11 percent. But while lists will show you where each county stands, putting them on a map helps us get an idea of which parts of the state are doing well, and which parts aren't.
That's why we created a map highlighting the top and bottom 25 counties in Illinois in terms of unemployment rates. With just under half the counties in the state represented, it gives an idea of which parts of the state is doing well and which parts aren't.
