The 10 Worst Counties for Unemployment Are ...

Unemployment in Illinois isn't just found in one corner of the state. It's found throughout as the counties in our list of worst unemployment rates show.

Last week we took a look at the best and worst cities in Illinois for unemployment in December. This week, we're taking a look at the unemployment rates of the counties in Illinois.

While the worst counties don't have rates as extreme as the worst cities, Illinois is still home home to five counties with an unemployment rate of 12 percent or worse, much above the state's average of 8.6 percent.

Interestingly, the counties on the list of the 10 worst for unemployment figures can be found throughout the entire state. Some are in northern Illinois, while others are downstate. It just goes to show that unemployment is a statewide issue in the Land of Lincoln.

Don't expect it to get any better considering the idiots that run this state!

Correct Herc.....No change insight, either. If the fine citizens of Illinois would examine who is running each of the various 50 states and check the unemployment numbers of each, they would find a constant theme. But don't try to tell any supporters of the current admin. Large corporations are not choosing Illinois. Home Depot just chose Boca Raton over Naperville in December.....stated "quality of life" as one of the reasons. I agree....the quality here keeps going down while the price keeps going up. Perfect way to go out of business...private or public.
