Andrew Marches Closer to Football Playoffs, Conference Title

In beating Lincoln-Way North 36-14 on Friday night, the T-Bolts are in good position.

Entering Friday’s Senior Night game at , the host Phoenix and the Thunderbolts owned identical overall records. And yet, the teams seemed to be headed in opposite directions.   

moving the T-Bolts one game closer to clinching a playoff berth and keeping them squarely in the hunt for a conference championship. The T-Bolts are 5-1 since Labor Day, after starting the season with two tough losses. Lincoln-Way North (4-4, 2-4) is 2-4 over the same span.

“After that tough 0-2 start, we really banded together,” said. “We’ve been like a band of brothers, and (we’ve) continued to have spirited practices. I’m proud of both the kids and the coaches.”

continues to pilot the T-Bolts offense through their late-season push. Hook was 19-of-24 passing for 254 yards and four touchdowns Friday night. The senior quarterback completed 11 consecutive passes in the first half as Andrew rolled to a 29-7 halftime lead.

“We have a lot of talented skill players, and our offensive line did a great job of protecting me all night,” Hook said after completing passes to six different players. 

The victory sets the table for a showdown with Thornton next Friday night. The winner of that game will finish 6-1 in conference.

“This win keeps our momentum going,” Hook said. “Now we have a shot at the conference championship.”
