Conference on Senior Citizen Safety

Senior citizens and those who work with them can learn how to prevent crimes targeting older adults at the National TRIAD Conference from Oct. 3-5 at the Tinley Park Convention Center, 18451 Convention Center Drive.

Senior citizens and members of law enforcement and social service agencies can attend workshops focusing on crime prevention and how to involve the senior population in community policing and service programs.

The public is invited to attend free of charge a unique "Who's Really Knocking at Your Door?" scam demonstration and fashion show from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5. Participants will include members of Tinley Park's Police, Fire, Public Works and Building Departments.

Senior citizens can attend the entire conference for $55, which includes two luncheons, a welcome reception and refreshments. One-day attendance is $25. Fees are payable at the door.
