Five L-W East, North Students Make it to Semifinal Round of Tollway Art Contest

Five High Schoolers Among Semifinalists in Tollway Art Contest

Artwork by a District 210 student could end up on the cover of Illinois Tollway maps.

Five students from and are semifinalists in the tollway's 2012 Map Cover Art Contest:

• Ashley Miyagawa, senior, L-W East
• Alyssa Sparacino, junior, L-W North
• Brianna Richards, senior, L-W North
• Lewis Cafaro, senior, L-W North
• Maeryl Timola, senior, L-W North

The artwork from these students was selected from among 76 entries across northern Illinois. Only 30 pieces were picked as semifinalists.

An online vote at the tollway's website will decide which three pieces will move on to the final round. Voting runs through Tuesday, Nov. 1, and the winner will be chosen by a panel of judges.

Limited Tickets Available for East, North Madrigal Dinners

It's Madrigal Dinner season in the district. 

Tickets for the L-W North performances are already on sale and only a limited number are still available. The evening shows Dec. 2 and 3 are sold out. Tickets ($28) for the following shows are still on sale: 

• 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1
• 11:30 a.m. Dec. 3

An order form can be downloaded online and mailed to choral director Christina Shoemaker at 19900 S. Harlem Ave., Frankfort. Call 815-534-3065 with any questions about tickets or the performances.

L-W East Madrigal tickets go on sale Nov. 12 and can be bought from 9 a.m. to noon in the lobby of the school’s auditorium.

Tickets ($28) available to the public are for the following performances:

• 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7-8
• 10 a.m. Dec. 10
