Kirby 140 School Board Honors Departing Member

The board presented a plaque to member Gina Robuck, who lost her seat in the April 5 election.

The took some time out of its Thursday meeting to honor departing board member Gina Robuck with a special plaque honoring her service for the past four years.

"I'm never speechless and I was speechless," Robuck said.

Robuck , with newcomer Jeffrey Ficaro knocking her off the ballot.

"The voters have voiced their opinion, but ... the commitment she has shown to this district and the kids of this district is beyond reproach," board President Chuck Augustyniak said of Robuck.

At 7 p.m. April 28, Kirby 140 will host a special meeting to swear in the new board and elect new officials -- president, vice president, etc. -- from within.
