"We will continue to monitor the weather and make a decision as soon as possible on Monday regarding classes on Tuesday," a note on the district's website stated.

Other districts in the area were still deciding whether or not to close schools because of the weather. Chicago Public Schools announced Saturday that it would be keeping schools open Monday, telling parents to use their discretion on letting their children attend.

Hey Joe, did they clear these school closings with Al Gore, why not aren't we in an era of global warming.Back when I and others went to school before giobal warming if you wanted to go U went and if your parents didn't want U to go which was never U didn't go.We had no buese to pick us up to and from and many of our families didn't have cars, plus I was a patrol boy standing on the corner in frigid weather, the majority of us made it which help me when I went to the jungles of Viet Nam,but was not rewarded like the MEME generation of today,I hope all will survive and be safe.
