Andrew Baseball Showing Promise

The Thunderbolts recently put together a three-game winning streak.

Andrew’s baseball team has had some ups and downs to start the 2011 season, but the Thunderbolts have showed plenty of promise.

After losing their season opener to Minooka, the T-Bolts went on a three-game winning streak. They defeated Danville and Johnsburg at the Lenz Field Invite and rallied in the sixth inning to overcome Hinsdale Central 6-4 on Monday (check out some video highlights ). 

The T-Bolts fell to Oak Forest on Tuesday, but they rolled past Thornton Fractional South on Wednesday by a score of 9-3. Marcus Radz picked up his first win of the year by allowing only one run while striking out four batters in five innings of work.

A 7-3 loss to D230 rival Sandburg on Thursday put Andrew’s record at 4-3 heading into the weekend. Read more about the game

Tinley’s Girls Soccer Team Rolling

Tinley Park’s girls soccer team was handed its first loss of the season as the Titans fell 4-0 to Lincoln-Way North last Saturday. Read the story .

But Tinley bounced back with a 6-0 win over Thornton Fractional United on Monday and a 4-3 win over Richards in a penalty shootout on Thursday, lifting the Titans’ record to 5-1.

Andrew Gymnasts Tumble

The Andrew/D230 boys gynamstics team fell the Lincoln-Way co-op team on Thursday. Rod Haddad led the D230 co-op team with an all-around score of 30.7. Read the story .
