Athlete of the Week: Andrew's Hofer on Shutout Streak

T-Bolts softball pitcher Brooke Hofer ends her shutout drought with a series of brilliant efforts.

Prior to last Monday’s Andrew-Stagg softball game, Stagg had yet to be shut out all season. And while Andrew pitcher Brooke Hofer had 18 starts under her belt, she had  yet to pitch a shutout. 

All of that changed quickly, as Hofer dominated the Stagg lineup and .

Andrew coach Jim Holba was excited for Hofer’s first shutout.

“She was phenomenal today and has been huge for us all year,” he said. “We were teasing her that it took her 18 starts to finally pitch a shutout, but it came at the right time.”

For an encore, Hofer pitched a five-inning no-hitter against Bradley in Andrew’s 10-0 win on Wednesday.

And on Saturday, Hofer capped off her huge week by pitching a two-hitter in Andrew’s 8-0 win over Reavis.
