Athlete of the Week: Tinley Park Football Burner Wallace Twice Takes It to the House
Titans running back Gregory Wallace scored on a 72-yard kickoff return and on a 32-yard burst from scrimmage in a thrilling football victory over Thornton Fractional North.
After a Thornton Fractional North scored to take a 26-14 lead over Tinley Park in Friday's football thriller, the Titans' Gregory Wallace was itching to get the ball in his hands.
“I was motivated," Wallace said. "I was jumping up and down to get in the game. As soon as they gave me the ball, I was ready.”
Wallace lined up for the ensuing kickoff, and he wasn’t lying about being ready. He caught the kick at the Titans' 28 and raced 72 yards for a momentum-turning touchdown.

Two drives later, with the Titans down 34-28, the Tinley Park coaching staff put the ball in Wallace’s hands again. Once again, he didn’t disappoint. He ran 32 yards for a touchdown and Tinley Park took a 35-34 lead.
The Titans went on to win a wild back-and-forth battle 56-52. Wallace is honored today for his contributions as the Patch Athlete of the Week for Tinley Park.

“We needed to score, and the line came through and blocked real well,” Wallace said.
He finished with 104 yards rushing on 10 carries as the Titans pushed their record to 3-0. Next up is Friday's game vs. Evergreen Park.
