Athlete of the Week: Titans' Griffin Strong in the Clutch
Tinley Park's Owen Griffin continues to be a powerful force at the plate.
With Tinley Park trailing T.F. South 9-4 heading into the bottom of the seventh on Tuesday, the Titans were facing a two-game sweep at the hands of the Rebels.
But Tinley scored three runs to cut the lead to 9-7 before loading the bases for Owen Griffin. The Titans’ senior catcher blasted the ball to the fence, clearing the bases and thrusting the Titans to a 10-9 victory.
Clutch hitting and run producing are nothing new to Griffin, who was batting .456 on the season and leading the Titans with 26 RBIs.
