Lincoln-Way North football team to honor staff

The efforts of Lincoln-Way North High School teachers and staff members are not lost on student athletes.

On Friday, Sept. 17, the school's varsity football team will honor those who have made a difference in their lives by asking them to wear their jerseys to school that day and to join them at the football field that night for a special recognition ceremony before the game.

"The purpose of the event is to build school spirit and to show appreciation to staff members that have made a positive impact on our student athletes," said Matthew Lyke, the athletic director at Lincoln-Way North.

This is the third year Lincoln-Way North's football team has honored staff members at a Staff Appreciation Night.

Each player is in the process of inviting their favorite teacher, secretary, custodian, counselor or cafeteria worker to the game on Sept. 17. They will escort the teachers and staff members onto the field that night as their names are read over the intercom.
