NOTE: The Del Melton Kids Fishing Derby has been canceled because of excessive flooding. After observing the severity of flooding around the dock, Tinley Park Park District officials decided the conditions were not safe for the event. The derby was scheduled for Saturday, June 11. If you love to fish regardless of your experience, you'll have a great time at our annual fishing derby. Prizes will be awarded for the largest fish caught and largest number of fish caught in each of the following age categories: 2-6, 7-10 and 11-13. Bring your own fishing gear and bucket. Bait will be donated by the Fishing Connection in Tinley Park. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. You may register at the Recreation Center or on site on the day of the event from 8:30-9:00 a.m. Event is held rain or shine.
