Football: Tinley Park Outlasts T.F. North in Combined 108-Point Offensive Thriller

Tinley Park 56, T.F. North 52: Preston Thompson's late 4-yard TD run caps off South Suburban Blue Conference shootout.

Breaking It Down: No, Tinley Park's 56-52 victory over T.F. North on Friday night wasn't a basketball game. In a second half full of offensive fireworks, Titans running back Preston Thompson delivered the knockout blow, a 4-yard touchdown run with less than a minute left.

T.F. North had a 20-7 lead at the half behind stellar play from quarterback Calvin Lindsey, but the Titans offense came out strong to start the third. Seven lead changes ensued over the following two quarters, and Tinley Park got two touchdowns from its special teams.

With many of the T.F. North athletes playing both ways, the Titans' ground game finally wore down the Meteors. Lindsey was knocked out of the game in the middle of the fourth quarter. Backup quarterback Dion Beecham led T.F. North on two scoring drives, but was intercepted by Tinley Park's Robert Wallace to end the game.
