For Tinley Park Thunder, It's the Boys Who Rule in the Pool

Tinley Park swim team defeats Palos, next turns its attention toward conference meet.

Girls rule?

Think again. The Tinley Park Thunder swim team edged the Palos Area Swim Sharks in a dual meet 347-305. And, for the Thunder, the deciding factor in the outcome was the performance of its boys.

The Palos girls racked up a 210-158 advantage over the Thunder girls, but the Thunder boys outscored the Sharks 189-95 to help bring home the victory.

Boys Hoops: Practice? We talkin' practice?

Good thing Allen Iverson isn't on the team, because the Tinley Park boys basketball team decided to spend its summer with more time practicing in the gym rather than playing in a weekly basketball league.

But the Titans' summer isn't devoid of competition. The varsity basketball team enjoyed its first taste of games this past weekend, amassing a 4-2 record at the Joliet West tournament. Although the Titans lose six players from last year’s squad, they hope to improve on its 15-10 finish.
