The Andrew football team blew the doors off a struggling Thornridge squad last Saturday in Dolton. directed the offense, Running backs Jarvis Franklin and Dennis Vilimek provided ground support for the T-Bolts as both reached the end zone.

Thornwood will look to rebound from their first loss of the year; an overtime thriller in South Holland that saw Bradley escape with a game winning field goal. The Thunderbirds will again look for their playoff welcoming fifth win of the season, which is quite the turnaround for a team that finished 4-5 last year. Thornwood has only qualified for state six times in its 41-year history.

The team should expect a hostile greeting as . Both teams have a 2-1 Southwest Suburban Red conference record, and the winner will be in the hunt for a conference championship.

Oak Forest looks to keep momentum rolling after beating T.F. North in conference play.

Argo (2-3) at Oak Forest (4-1)

When and Where: 7 p.m. Friday at , 15201 Central Ave.

Last Week: Oak Forest 42, T.F. North 12; Eisenhower 43, Argo 6.

Oh, the difference a week can make. After losing a heartbreaker to district-rival Bremen, the Bengals traveled to Calumet City and shut down the explosive T.F. North offense. , their lowest total score of the year. 

again showed why he is one of the top backs in the state, slicing the Meteors for 164 yards and two touchdowns on a mere carries. Coleman has the speed to take any touch to the house.  Look for him to run through an Argo defense that struggled mightily containing Eisenhower last week.  

Argo gave up 275 yards and four touchdowns to Eisenhower running back Leo Okeke. The struggles weren’t limited to the defensive side for the Argonauts, as they managed only 112 yards of total offense.

The Titans travel to Hillcrest with hopes of erasing last week’s loss to Lemont.

 (4-1) at Hillcrest(0-5)

When and Where: 7 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest High School, 17401 Crawford Avenue, Country Club Hills.

Last Week: ; Oak Lawn 20, Hillcrest 18.   

The disappointment was palpable in the Titans huddle following . The Titans defense showed difficulty controlling the ground game, as they gave up 49 points on the day.

But there were positives in the loss; the offense continues to chug along thanks to , , and wide receivers and Tracey Brandy. The 20 points they hung on Lemont were 14 more than the team had allowed all season.

The Titans schedule eases up this week as they travel to district-rival Hillcrest. While winless on the season, Hillcrest’s 0-5 record is a bit deceiving. Last week, the Hawks lost to Oak Lawn (3-2) by two points, and a few weeks prior, took undefeated Bremen (5-0) to the brink in a 14-12 loss.
