Gimme 5: Tinley Junction's Wilk is 'Ace' of the Staff

Recent college graduate Ray Wilk has mastered the giraffe hole on mini-golf course. He is working as an assistant manager at the Tinley Junction while he looks to break into the world of architecture.

Ray Wilk has seven summers of experience under his belt working at the Tinley Park Park District’s Tinley Junction ( located at 80th Avenue and 170th Street).

Wilk started working summers there when he was 15 years old. And, even throughout his tenure at college, he would return to work summers at the Junction. Now 22, Wilk is an assistant manager and has the most seniority of anyone at the Junction.

When he’s not working the mini-golf course or batting cages attractions, Wilk is probably listening to some of his favorite tunes.  He has a collection of vinyl records, and he says his favorite musical moment was being able to see Steely Dan live in concert.

Wilk recently received his bachelors degree from Ball State University in architecture. He spent one semester studying abroad in Australia and plans a return trip to the land down under some day. In the meantime, he hopes to find a job in brick laying to gain experience in the industry.
