High School Postseason HQ: Tinley Beats Joliet Catholic, Advances in Softball

In girls soccer, Lincoln-Way North slipped by Lincoln-Way Central to make it the sectional final. Plus, updates on the other spring sports.

Softball

  • Andrew: The Thunderbolts lost to Homewood-Flossmoor, 5-1, in the regional semifinal Tuesday, May 21, at Romeoville.
  • Tinley Park: The No. 1-seeded Titans beat Joliet Catholic Academy, 6-3, in the regional semifinal Tuesday, May 21, at Oak Forest. Tinley Park next plays the winner of Wednesday's game between Oak Forest and Bremen at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25.
  • L-W North: The No. 7-seeded Phoenix defeated Lincoln-Way Central, 4-3, Tuesday, May 21, in the regional semifinal at home. L-W North will play Providence Catholic at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at home.

Soccer (Girls)

  • Andrew: The Thunderbolts lost to Lincoln-Way North, 1-0, in the Tuesday, May 21, sectional semifinal at Andrew.
  • Tinley Park: The Titans plays Marian at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Lincoln-Way West.
  • L-W North: The Phoenix beat Andrew, 1-0, in the Tuesday, May 21, sectional semifinal at Andrew. L-W North next plays Sandburg at 4:30 p.m. in the sectional final.

Baseball

  • Andrew: The Thunderbolts will play Richards at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the regional at Richards.
  • L-W North: The No. 1-seeded Phoenix is waiting to find out who its first regional challenger will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Lincoln-Way Central.
