Tinley Bulldogs Baseball Shows Summer Bite

The Tinley Park Bulldogs captured titles in three different age divisions during play in their annual season-ending tournament.

Putting a capper on another successful summer season, the Tinley Park Bulldogs baseball program finished the month of July with three tournament championships and multiple second- and third-place finishes.

Three Bulldog teams took home first-place trophies at the Bulldog Summer Tournament, held annually at the Bulldog complex. The winners were the Tinley 8-Under All-Stars, 11-Year-Old Black and 12-Year-Old All-Stars.

Managed by Glen Kendall, the 8-Under All-Stars conquered a 16-team field to nab first place. The team also finished second and third in two other tournaments during the month.

The 11-Year-Old Black team beat out 12 others to take home the Bulldog Summer Tournament title. Managed by Doug Rayburn, the team also placed second in the CABA World Series in Crystal Lake.

The oldest group to win a tournament title was the 12-Year-Old All-Stars. The Michelle Branham-managed club staged a furious comeback in the title game. The Bulldogs scored five runs in the top of the seventh to defeat Oak Forest.

Tinley Native Storms Beach Volleyball

A Tinley Park-Orland Park duo of Sanil Thomas and Paul Chmura took third place in the 14-Under division at the USA Beach Junior Championship in Chicago. Thomas and Chmura lost their first match in the tournament semifinals, but rebounded to win the third-place match to take home the division’s bronze medal. The two play together on the Frankfort Ultimate Volleyball club.

Tinley Football Readies to Make a Run

The are expecting another solid football season, the optimism following on the heels of a conference championship year.

Yellow Jackets Bring The Sting

Two Tinley Park residents, Luke Bertolani and Andrew Bidochka, helped the 13-Under Lincoln-Way Yellow Jackets to an undefeated record at the Wisconsin Dells Summer Slugfest. The team went 6-0 over two days.
