The Tinley Park Bulldogs began its 2013 season for its baseball and softball teams this past weekend with its traditional Opening Day festivities. And for the Bulldogs, Opening Day doesn't just mean first games of the season. It also means a parade along Oak Park Avenue.

Reader Jaime Ormond sent in these photos of winning overall float in this year's parade, which was Sunday, April 21. It belongs to the Pinto Boston Red Sox team. As float winners, the 7- and 8-year-olds on this team have earned a $300 party at Odyssey Fun World.

Ormond said the following people deserve special thanks for their work on the float: Marc McCarey, Tom Ciolkosz, Aaron Ormond, Dan Spano, Bob Johnson and Mike Simmons.

While Opening Day was sunny, the weather for the first week of games hasn't been as accommodating. Hopefully, the teams will be able to get back on the diamonds soon.
