Sabathia learned at a young age the importance of organizations like Athletes Against Drugs, founded by Chicago-based educator, author, businessman and speaker Stedman Graham. When Sabathia was growing up, he spent time after school at the Boys and Girls Club of Vallejo, Calif. To this day, he credits the club for steering him on a positive life path.

Graham is best known as a partner of media mogul Oprah Winfrey. Just as Graham is a giant in his field, Sabathia towers over hitters on the mound. He stands 6-7 and weighs 290 pounds.
