5 Reasons Why Lifeguarding Is the Best Summer Job in Tinley Park

When it comes to summer jobs, lifeguarding tops the list as one of the best.

Some of the employment perks include sitting poolside and enjoying some of the nicest weather the Chicago area will have all year. But those aren't the only reasons lifeguards at Tinley Park-Park District's White Water Canyon Water Park slap on the sunscreen and shades each summer.

Make no mistake, though: Those perks are definitely on the list of reasons.

Patch spoke with five guards Tuesday and asked them why they like keeping swimmers safe. Check out the video to see what they had to say.

White Water Canyon Water Park


Hours: Noon to 8:30 p.m. through July. 
Admission: $13; $7 with resident ID or other identification. After 5 p.m., it's $9 or $4 with resident ID or other resident identification. Check the park's website for accepted forms of ID.
